Absolutely fabulous evening! Perfect weather, excellent food, friendly chef & captain, and 4 hours of beautiful land & lakes! Worth every penny. We’ll be back.

To christen the 2016 season . . .

Just realized that The Enchantress has her own ‘review’ section~~ Posting here my review, written for TripAdvisor, after a most memorable and unique winter evening on board her ladyship, the elegant Carol M ~~
Some experiences are actually so extraordinary that they almost defy expression in words . . .

One such is “The Enchantress” circa 1940s woody yacht~~!!

Acres of gorgeous beams, reminiscent of an old world pub in the back byways of tangled lanes in remote Great Britain, sumptuously furnished in the style and comfort of a well bygone era.

The challenge was to find something so evocative and unique for the celebration of a dear friend’s 60th birthday, that just another uptown restaurant wouldn’t do at all.

Add to this, that fine food had to be part of the equation, along with superb wines, earth shattering views and ample privacy and comfort.

Impossible?

Nearly!

And then, the gods smiled on me as I happened across an online website for The Enchantress.

Talk about a heart flip . . .

YES, this was IT, indeed~~!

She is the perfect size for a party of four, though can accommodate up to six comfortably.

As for practicalities, there is an easy to use toilet on board, and access topside, as well as entry level, are comfortable and easily managed. Should further help be necessary, both Mark (the owner) and his captain are right there to ease guests into position.

We found it easier to request pick up at the Carillon Point dock, though her moorage is on the west side of Lake Union in Seattle.

The menu is open to your tastes; two of our group had salmon with scallops, while the other two had filet mignon. Both were accompanied with perfectly prepared fresh vegetable; starter was crab cakes or crab salad. Everything, including multiple bottles of champagne and wine, was served to perfection by Mark and the captain in flawless style. Food ordering is sorted when reserving, so there’s no dithering necessary on board.

The Enchantress is the perfect venue for those seeking an abundantly lavish occasion while stepping elegantly back in time, via old world interiors, floating past all the modern vistas of Seattle, Kirkland, Medina, Meydenbauer Bay or wherever one chooses to cruise! Mark is very flexible and fully focused on making each occasion feel like his guests are privileged owners of a world class yacht!

Such a rarity is most welcome in today’s world of yet another restaurant for special occasions . . .

And/or if you are planning a holiday to Seattle, don’t miss the privacy and elegance of cruising our local waters on board The Enchantress.

It truly doesn’t get finer ~~!!

Better than we expected and we were expecting incredible. The food, the service, everything was outstanding. An absolute dream come true for us. We combined a birthday party and 4th of July celebration with friends aboard this beautiful 1948 ‘Woody’. Our host and owner of the yacht, Mark welcomed us with open arms and created an amazing experience as well as 5 star farm to fork cuisine for us. From the get go he always gave us immediate response to emails and phone calls, explaining everything in detail including directions where to meet and designing the perfect menu. Thank you Mark and captain Eric for an experience we will never ever forget, for something we will be talking about for the rest of our lives! We will definitely be doing this again. Amazing time!!! My boyfriend now fiancé proposed aboard this beautiful boat. Mark worked with him the entire time and made sure everything went great!!! It was the greatest moment of my life and I will never forget it. The food was amazing too!!! Mark is a professional chef. Thank you Mark and captain Dave for an amazing and memorable evening that we will never forget.

My friends and I cruised Labor Day evening and had a marvelous time. Mark Lanfear had the perfect balance of friendly cohort and attentive host. He made the adventure perfect. The boat is beautiful, expertly handled by Captain Bill. The views were amazing and the weather was ideal. It’s hard to imagine a better way to enjoy an evening with friends.

Mark and Captain Dave took us on an amazing evening as a celebration of our 24th wedding anniversary. Mark worked with me to plan every detail so our evening came as a full surprise to my wife. Mark and Dave were simply amazing and knowledgeable about the sites we were seeing and so many things. They were patient and thoughtful also. Oh, and the food was AMAZING. Looking forward to the next cruise already!

THE HUSBAND’S GOAL – To secretly plan an intimate setting for the 40th Birthday of his beautiful wife, which would include the additional surprise attendance of both sets of parents; hers from California, and his dad and mom (that would be me!) who also happens to share the same birth date as his wife. And if that wasn’t enough, he would be presenting her with a new wedding ring, replacing her first setting that was lost earlier this year.

ENTER, Mark! – While searching for ideas, Ryan happened upon the Enchantress Cruises web site. It looked promising, but it was his conversation with Mark that convinced him – he had found the perfect setting for Wendy’s party! Mark was friendly, engaging, informative, and totally on board (nautical humor!) as a co-conspirator for the surprise element. Ryan was impressed that Mark prepared all the food himself on the boat, shopping the morning of the event at Pike Place for the freshest ingredients possible. (side note: we later discovered from Captain Dave that Mark had previously run his own high-end restaurant.)

The AMBIANCE! – Oozing great karma, this lovely vessel is decorated in antiques and whimsy, tender loving care, and some new upgrades that complement the vintage of the craft. The dining area is open and airy, yet maintained an intimacy for our group of 6. Delightful!

Come for the cruise, come for Mark and Captain Dave, but STAY FOR THE FOOD!! We dined on the most sumptuous crab cakes I’ve ever had, and the consensus was unanimous! Then came the beef tenderloin, which I cut with my butter knife and it melted in my mouth! OH. MY. GOODNESS.!!! Is it possible to use too many exclamation marks?!! It was a wonderful experience from stem to stern, nautically speaking. Thank you, Mark! Hope we see you again soon!

What an amazing experience! The boat was beautiful and the décor/plans that Mark and I spoke about a few weeks before was superb. We were blessed with perfect weather and sitting out on the front of the boat watching the sunset was breathtaking, made us feel like celebrities as we floated by onlookers. As my plan unfolded, Mark and the captain were right on point with cameras and captured the whole moment – best of all she said “YES”. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Definitely a Must Do if your considering a cruise in Seattle!

We had friends visiting from Chicago last week, and we chartered a dinner cruise as a special night out. It was outstanding – by far the best thing we did during our friends’ visit and something they will talk about for years to come.

Mark is a gracious, attentive host and blended into our group immediately. He had the perfect balance of making us welcome and participating in our evening – but then disappearing to create a delicious dinner while we enjoyed the sights.

Captain Scott was a great host and tour guide for the sights we saw around Lake Union and Lake Washington, and he even laughed at all our bad jokes.

Our cruise lasted 4 hours, from 5-9 p.m., so we cruised for a bit and then pulled into a cove in Lake Washington to anchor and eat dinner. On our return we caught the last bit of sunset and saw everything lit up on both lakes – lovely!

We selected our menu with Mark’s guidance, and the pork tenderloin was absolutely outstanding. His wife had just recently made some mango chutney that we had as a topping, and the meat was moist and delicious. I chose a salad and crab cake for starters, and the crab cake was so large and filling that we had more than enough food.

I would recommend this to any group of 6 or fewer for a memorable, magical night on the water in Seattle.

My husband and I were married on the boat in October 2010. The cruise took us through Lake Washington and Lake Union. We were married at sunset, at the front of the boat, on Lake Union. Then we enjoyed an amazing dinner, anchored in Lake Washington, with Mt. Rainier in the background. What a wonderful experience! We will never forget our wedding day!

We’re looking forward to our annual trip to Seattle and another enchanting afternoon aboard this beautiful wooden boat, the Carol M. The boat’s owner and chef, Mark Lanfear, never fails to amaze us with his charming hospitality and pride in ownership. There is no better way to relax than cruising on Lakes Union and Washington, gazing at beautiful homes and darling houseboats, and then culminating with an absolutely delicious gourmet meal.

Seattle is a beautiful city and we enjoy all the touristy things; however, our vacation just wouldn’t be the same without a cruise on the Carol M!
– Linda and Mike Garman (Caldwell, ID)

We spent an April afternoon cruising the lakes on this beautiful boat. We loved seeing the sights from the vantage point of the water. It was the highlight of our trip to Seattle!
– Lee

Went out for a 1.5 hour hors d’oeuvre cruise for 6 and had an amazing time. The boat is absolutely beautiful and the top deck area has ample comfy seats to enjoy the nice weather.

Mark was extremely welcoming and attentive. Next time I will definitely be ordering food and going out for a bit longer.

All in all, this is a great cruise for a group of friends or anyone looking for a nice evening out.
– Weston H. (Seattle, WA)

Carol R’s review is spot on. Of course more can be added. Such as: Mark, the chef/owner is a great chef and you really should order something to eat for your cruise-you won’t regret it!

The cruise is beautiful, taking in all the great sites of Seattle from the water. Have fun with your loved ones and friends!!!!
– Scott C. (Seattle, WA)

Thank you for a wonderful time. I will never forget the sunset on our way back from the bay. The food was wonderful! That was my mother’s first time on such an elegant boat, and I’m glad her experience was magical. Hope to have another cruise soon!
– Maria and Jim (Sammamish, WA)

We cannot recall any excursion contained within 24 hours that has given more delight and relaxation than our day with you on the “Carol M.” Your hospitality set in the backdrop of sparkling Seattle waterways was perfect!

Thank you for a marvelous time.
– Carol and Bill (Wenatchee, WA)

This is an amazing and beautiful 1940s wooden cruising boat that is elegant and comfortable. The dinner cruise was delicious, and we went all over Lake Washington. We pre-arranged what we wanted to eat with the owner/chef, and it was just what we wanted. This would be a great cruise for friends visiting Seattle or for an anniversary, graduation, or other special occasion.
